The involvement of parents is important. In our community, perhaps unlike the larger educational community in the educational mainstream, the role parents play is proportionally greater. Also, the committment of parents is vital beyond their support for the principles of how we teach. The school has a varied programme of fundraising events throughout the year and parents play a key part in it. They are also involved in the school’s governance as is evident by the work of the Parents, Teachers and Friends Committee which helps steer our educational work, the schools social calendar and many of the innovative ideas for activities and fundraisers.

We rely, too, on parents providing practical assistance in many areas. They are the source for supervision and support at events and school activities. They also help with willing hands providing the labour to complete themany developments and projects which help our school grow. These can involve painting and decorating, baking and catering as well as just being there!
