Our Approach
From Class One through to Ten each school day starts with the main lesson, which is taken by the class teacher – or specialist teachers in the later years of the senior school.
“We want to use the subject matter in our Waldorf School in such a way that, at each stage of instruction, it will serve to improve the human development of the pupil, regarding the formation of the will, feeling and intellect.”
“Subjects are studied in an integrated manner, with one topic or subject being followed over a period of two to four weeks.”
Subjects taught in this structured and integrated manner are:
• English
• Mathematics
• Humanities and Science
• Mythologies
• The Arts
• Music and Drama
Other subjects include:
• French
• German
• Biology
• Art
• Crafts
• Woodwork
• Sports
• Religion
• Horticulture
• Eurythmy*
*Eurythmy is an artistic form of movement unique to Waldorf Steiner schools.
